18 Doughty Street

I’m so looking forward to this new web venture – 18 Doughty Street. While it’s fun to watch Newsnight of an evening, #18 is going to be bring us “anti-establishment TV” (OK, so when exactly was Iain Dale ever anti-establishment? Guido surely but Iain?) and promises to be an

“insurgent channel standing up for the little guy against big media, big business, big politics and big and undemocratic international institutions.”

Cool. Just as long as Janet Street-Porter isn’t involved it’ll do fine. First episode features the leadership of ACT, the New Zealand equivalent of the SDP.

Two Final Things

Aber mit der Heimat
geht man immer herum,
durch die Welt,
dort und dort
Peter Handke

No one could describe
the Word of the Father;
but when He took flesh from you, O Theotokos,
He consented to be described, and restored the fallen image to its former beauty.
We confess and proclaim our salvation in word and image.
