Reclusive
Gotta love this response by Mike Aquilina to a meme:
If you were invited to a Halloween/ All Saints Day Costume Party, which saint would you dress up as and why? (The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is not an option.)
Well, since the BVM is out, I guess I’d choose Anthony [...]

Come back “The Italian Job” version 2, all is forgiven
*cough*
You know that remake of The Italian Job? The one that was so, SO awful?
Now, imagine that somebody, oooohhhh, let’s say someone Turkish, remade Star Trek. Not dubbed over it mind you, actually remade it. With special effects that were, well, “interesting”. How cool would that be? Could you contain yourself in anticipation?
I’m, so, so [...]

Marriage is more than a tax break
An absolutely brilliant piece by Anne Atkins in today’s Telegraph:
Consider some facts. Cohabiting couples are five times more likely to split up than the married; perhaps more shockingly, once they become parents, they are six-and-a-half times more likely to do so than their married counterparts. Within five years of the birth of a child, only [...]

Planning our First Anniversary Trip
I think this would be a fantastic place to go… We were already thinking about a cruise or even a coach tour and we don’t want anything to spoil it.

Learning from the Dear Leader
William Norton on Conservative Home speaks much wisdom…
Politics
As it happens, North Koreans don’t go in for politics much. Not for them the daily tedium of wading through the predictable same-old same-old postings on Conservative Home where people disagree with the leader! The whole country is 100% united behind charismatic statesman Kim Jong Il. Go to [...]

Pure Passion - David Foster on the First Show
Pure Passion now has it’s first programme available online. It’s a bit American in it’s style (OK, when we say “a bit” we mean “hugely, can’t miss it for a second”) and if I’m honest David Foster and Sy Rogers know how to handle themselves in front of a camera and the others, well, don’t. [...]

Austria - Final Election Results
All the postal votes have been counted and the final, definitive result of the Austrian General Election[de] is in. The headline is that the Greens have narrowly pipped the FPÖ to third place, the first time ever that they’ve managed to be in that position.
SPÖ - 35.3 % - 68 Seats
ÖVP - 34.3% - 66 [...]

Deep breath, calm down….
Guido is rumouring very loudly that Tony may be having a chat to Scotland Yard in the very near future… Did he? Didn’t he? Do we care?
In other exciting politics type news, tonight is the first broadcast of 18 Doughty Street. Hurrah!!!!

Can’t make a monkey out of me?
Question - If you were an African Archbishop or even a Primate (geddit?), let’s say “Peter Akinola” or “Bernard Malango”, and somebody compared you to the above picture, would you be:
Slightly offended
Quite offended
Amazingly and outrageously offended, considering that the above photo was posted by a so called “inclusive liberal”
Answers on a postcard to:

Fulfilled or Finished?
Some nice musings from Andrew Goddard on where the current furore in the Anglican Communion is taking us:
The Inclusive Church statement (written by its Chair, Giles Goddard) and the GS documents to which it responds make evident just how serious are the differences and how wide is the gulf between Anglicans. They also signal how [...]

All Saints
Just pointing up this little reminder from Anglican Mainstream:
Anglican Mainstream has received many requests for the All Saints Day Video by Peter Ould, released in November 2004. As the season comes around again, it is available here for those who wish to make use of it in public and private devotion. It is also listed [...]

The more observant amongst you will notice that I’ve installed a new function that puts an icon to match the topic tag of each post on the blog. Cool huh? Gotta love all those Wordpress plugins.
