Who’d have thought that a simple off-the-cuff remark would cause so many problems?
Remember yesterday’s report of a same-sex blessing in Beverly Hills in the Diocese of Los Angeles? Well Bishop Bruno was quick to deny that same-sex blessings took place under his watch.
Apart from of course this one, this one, this one, this one and of course this one (which he did the blessing for). At least Susan Russell is honest about it but personally I think Bruno’s attitude of “don’t tell me if you’re doing it so then I can’t discipline you” is disingenuous at best. Imagine applying the same standard to adultery?

Lest any should say that I had same-sex blessed in mine own Diocese.
And I same-sex blessed also the household of Clark and James: besides, I know not whether I same-sex blessed any other.
