A simple WHOIS search reveals the following

What that all means is that the technical contact for the anglican.org domain is Brian Reid, a member of the Society of Archbishop Justus, but that the domain is legally owned by the "Anglican Communion, Worldwide" which apparently is run out of Christ Episcopal Church, Los Altos!!

While that may be a hangover from when Brian Reid originally registered the domain, surely now is the time to handover legal ownership of anglican.org to the Anglican Communion Office? Afterall, SoAJ claims to not be in it for the money, but rather for the service of Anglicans worldwide. They state:

We hope never to receive much publicity nor much money; just enough of both so that we can make solid Internet resources available to Anglican and affiliated groups to help the church grow and meet the needs of the modern world.

I think it’s time for Bishops and Archbishops to insist that Rowan Williams asks SoAJ to hand control of anglican.org to the ACO.
