The second reading of the Coroners and Justice Bill was yesterday. There is as yet no text of the proceedings online, but Lord Waddington has tabled an amendment to effectively strike section 58 which was to remove Clause 29JA of the Criminal Justice Act (Amended). Dominic Grieve, the Shadow Justice Secretary, has indicated that the Conservatives will support this amendment from the Front Bench.

Once I can read online Hansard from yesterday I will comment on the exact proposal from Lord Waddington.
