Over at Changing Attitude, a recent blog post caught my eye, not for the coherent argument being made that *technically* the Church of England hasn’t formally made up its mind as to whether its churches can or can’t be use to register Civil Partnerships once the law changes this month. No, what was more interesting . . . → Read More: So Who Performs Same-Sex Blessings?

To expand on that a little, I have heard this same idea expressed by Christians in many false dichotomies. For instance:

Anglican Cycle
4th Week after Trinity
Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
God’s Word "There is none holy like the LORD; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God." (1 Samuel 2:2, ESV)
