Voting Labour is Un-Christian
Now there’s a provocative blog post title and no mistake, but it’s the view put forward this morning by Cranmer:
When is a free vote not a free vote?
When it is an issue of conscience and Harriet Harman leads a whipping like the one witnessed on the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.
Whipping is usually fully [...]

Labour’s Deputy Leader Whipped Abortion Vote
It’s now out in the open. Despite the fact that abortion is meant to be a conscience issue in the House of Commons, Harriet Harman, the deputy leader of the Labour Party, organised a massive whipping operation on Labour MPs during Tuesday’s debate on lowering the legal limit on abortion.
A secret plot led by Labour’s [...]

New Labour, Dead Babies
The Wilted Rose is carrying this great letter on why Labour is morally bankrupt.
Since I turned 18 ten years ago I’ve always voted … Anyway, I’ve always voted Labour …
Flip flopping over whether to hold an election (missed an opportunity there Gordy!), and the shambles that was the 10p Tax Band… not exactly impressed me [...]

The Hypocrisy of Labour
Information is beginning to emerge about how the abortion vote on Tuesday evening was subtlely whipped by Labour.
As Conservative Home point out this morning in this great chart, the abortion vote did split roughly on party lines.
Now some of that is to do with how socially liberal Labour MPs tend to be (and socially conservative [...]

Nadine Dorries rises to the Moment
Just watched a brilliant speech in the Common by Nadine Dorries in support of her amendment to the Embryology Bill to reduce the limit for abortion to 20 weeks. Will try and get video up of it ASAP.

Cranmer pleads on Abortion
Members of Parliament, in the name of Christ, take heed of such testimonies and stop this slaughter. If you have no time for religious opinion, then listen to scientific reason and the democratic majority, and call a halt to this evil infanticide.
Cranmer’s full piece is well worth a read this afternoon. His blog post also [...]

Embryology Bill Crunch Moment
As you can see from the graphic on the right, next Monday and Tuesday are the crunch moments for the Human Embryology Bill. There are four crucial votes on matters of deep theological significance related to our understanding of the sanctity of life.
I wrote a piece two months ago outlining some of the moral objections [...]

An Open Challenge to those in Favour of Retaining 24 Weeks
This is nice and simple. I challenge absolutely anybody who is in favour of maintaining the limit on abortions to do the following:
Read this piece from yesterday’s Telegraph
Explain coherently why it would have been moral to inject Ellie-Suzanne’s heart with poison to kill her and then to dismember her before removing the body parts a [...]

20 Weeks Campaign Formally Launches
Nadine Dorries MP will on Tuesday launch the official parliamentary campaign to reduce the upper limit for abortion from 24 weeks to 20 weeks when the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill is debated in the Commons later this month.
Nadine will be supported by consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Vincent Argent, former medical Director of BPAS, [...]

Why the “Stay at 24 Weeks” Argument is Tenuous
You may have seen the news stories this morning claiming that there has been no real change in pre 24 week foetus viability in the last few years. This has been spun as a reason not to change the limit on abortions when an amendment is presented very soon as part of the passage of [...]

Beyond the Limit - 4
Nadine Dorries presents another Labour MP who should be worried
Margaret Moran (Labour) Luton South. Majority: 5650.
Margaret Moran MP has abstained during many abortion votes, however, she has taken funding from Emily’s list on the basis that she supports pro-abortion values.
As I’ve said before, abstention is fine if she feels that by voting for her pro-abortion [...]

Abortion in the UK - Money Making
This little gem from Nadine
Spent today with a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist.
He is an abortionist who will not abort over sixteen weeks because “it doesn’t matter what the reasons are, it’s life as we know it at that stage and changes from a procedure into something else slightly more sinister”.
There is not one [...]

Beyond the Limit - 3
Here’s another Labour MP who might want to think carefully before they vote on the Abortion amendment.
Jacqui Smith (Labour). Redditch. Majority: 2716.
Jacqui Smith has abstained during many abortion votes, however, she has taken funding from Emily’s list on the basis that she supports pro-abortion values.
As I’ve said before, abstention is fine if she feels that [...]

Beyond the Limit - 2
From Nadine Dorries
Barbara Follett MP. Labour. Stevenage. Majority: 3139.
Barbara Follett is the founder of Emily’s list, which provides financial help and assistance to women wishing to become Labour MPs. In order to receive funding they have to support Labour party values, and be pro-abortion.
This means that any potential candidate of faith, ie, Jewish, Christian, Sikh, [...]
