As I’m so often reminded what a priceless gift my life is, I ache with everything in me to make it count, so that when I finally cross the finish line, I’ll hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.â€
To me, there is no greater reward.
Of course, all of this weighs heavily on the spiritual scale, so allow me to be completely honest and say none of it is intended to be “crammed down the throat,†if you will. That is not my intention. This is what I wholeheartedly believe, and to that belief, I remain steadfast until He returns or calls me home.
One thing is certain:
When He comes for His own, He will have no trouble recognizing me… because my banner will be clear.
That has made my whole week. Martyr, and more power to him.

I only heard the ‘Fireflies’ song a few weeks ago when I went to my daughter’s dance show and the baby dancers (7 year olds) danced to it. Being both an incurable romantic and a lover of ’80s electro-pop, I really enjoyed the song. I asked my daughter later ‘What is Owl City’ and of course they filled me in.
Interestingly, my immediate thought on hearing the name ‘Owl City’ was: ‘Hmm … ‘Owl City’ … reminds me of ‘A Parliament of Owls’ in CS Lewis’ ‘The Silver Chair’ … I wonder if he’s a Christian?’ So well done Adam in coming out publically as a Christian. From the link you posted, Peter, he’s clearly inspiring many of his fans.
Just now I said to one of my teenage daughters ‘Did you know that Owl City guy is a Christian?’ (I like to be able to show that I’m at least slightly aware of teenage culture). Her response was: ‘Duh! Everyone knows that!’ Oh well, so much for my best efforts to appear cool.
I still prefer Heaven 17’s ‘Fascist Groove Thang’ to ‘Fireflies’ though!
