  1. I’m no fan of Ann Widdecombe, but I must say that she makes her case extremely well. In fact I agree with her that the legal definition of marriage should stay exactly as it is. However, I can’t forget that she fought tooth and nail against the introduction of civil partnerships, and that most of those behind the C4M would abolish civil partnerships if they could. That’s why I’d cut my right hand off before I signed their petition.

  2. Has Ann Widdecombe forgotten that Lord Carey at the beginning of his pontificate on the Throne of St Augustine called people like her who did not hold with women priests, heretics?
